i give it one star.   :b

I wonder if physically attractive people know that they are.  Of if they’re just used to the attention so they don’t know that it’s attention.  Heh.  Strangers don’t come up to me and ask for my #.  Not really.  They don’t proposition me for sex.  At most, I got groped at a club after leaving a ladies dance circle.  Bwah.  I’m sure physically attractive people think about their imperfections, like many of us.  Though if you’re on a magazine cover, I wouldn’t worry about it.  Maybe they have more to lose.  I remember a mary kay lady saying “your wrinkles are just dying to come out!!”  I suppose that’s a sales tactic.  Yeah, I got fine lines but doesn’t it come with the territory?

Maybe it’s best not to stress and be okay wherever you are in life.

in my state i thought about swiping the plastic and doing some retail therapy.  i was eyeing a coach wallet or a coach diaper bag- if i was mental enough.  my friends have become coach whores disciples enthusiasts and i wanted to succumb.  it's bad enough that my family's tight with money right now, and i should be saving for the baby, and that the wallet would always cost more than the money it contained.  ;)
so i looked at craigslist, and saw an ad for a purse.  a really good price.  i sent it to jackie, asking her if she thought it was real.  she said, looks real, if you don't buy it i might.  so i sent an email asking how big the purse was.  i thought i'd go buy it for jackie.  but i didn't hear back from the seller.
it turns out that Jackie went and bought it.  she came by last night and gave it to me!!!  that crazy chick!!!  she stole my idea! ;)  arggghghwoigewg!!!  you're way too nice, chica.  i'm stunned.  i'm going to get you back.  somehow.  some way.  just you wait.

http://www.paulgraham.com/stuff.html

so this article/blog/essay was pretty interesting, and I agreed in many ways.  (it can be a little preachy, but who isn’t?  :b)

I try not to care so much about stuff.  but it’s hard going to the mall, with its awesome lighting, and not be in want.  In many respects, it’s good that I’m a cheapskate.  ;)

And I like perusing craigslist, but I can’t help but think, it’s the place where stuff comes to die… ;)

I don’t understand why the author says books are okay. Didn’t understand his justification.  The library and www.paperbackswap.com are my friends.  I heart!  ………….Tho really, if something brings you enjoyment, who am I to judge ya?

Sometimes it’s hard for me to get rid of stuff.  I *say* I’m not attached to things, but I have a hoarding defense mechanism.  I have to give myself permission.  I’ve found there is freedom in letting go.

So much of my happiness isn’t in things, but in relationships, and I’m really thankful for the friends placed in my life.  Hanging out with y’all is a kazillion times better than anything you’d find in a store.

pestering the spousal unit in the morning is funny. Sorry hon. ;) he’s taking me somewhere for the anniversary (4 years tomorrow!) and he won’t tell me where. So I ask dumb questions. “is it closed on Sundays?” “will they give us our meal for free if they don’t give us a receipt?” hahahaa…

I randomly thought about a friend of a friend who moved. He had one box devoted completely to condiment packets. My first reaction: gross!! Though I have my share of ketchup, soy sauce, mayo, sugar, pink/blue/yellow fake sugar, and honey (which I happen to covet). I think the only packets that I’d uproot if I moved is the honey.

This had me rofl – especially *cough* asian women, sushi, threatening to move to Canada and outdoor performance clothing. http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.wordpress.com/full-list-of-stuff-white-people-like/

On Monday night I hurled like a champion. nasty. I was feeling meh all day, but I thought I had a case of the Mondays. I ate at tenderjacks, and I honestly don’t think they were the cause. But there’s no way in hell I ever want to go back. ;) My face is all splotchy still – I guess the blood rushed to my face.

Why? Why?????: You know how with the March calendar, it spans 6 weeks, so calendar makers end up scrunching the 23rd with the 30th, and the 24th with the 31st? why does the scrunching always happen at the end? Why don’t they scrunch march 1 with march 8?? One less scrunched up box. And easter is deserving of its own box.

Product ramble: I used 3 lotions today. The cocoa butter stuff my mom got me, the Vaseline stuff that I like but don’t uberly love, and the body shop body butter on the lower legs. I will probably put some oil of olay on my face later. 4! I think I need a don’t-buy-lotion-or-facial-junk-without-me type book. I’m at the end of my mary kay timewise cleanser… I like it but it’s not doing anything for me anymore. I have a crapload of clinique stuff to try out after the last is gone.

This is my new favorite site: www.disapprovingrabbits.com.

I think I should start collecting jewelry: Cuz it doesn’t take up a lot of space, it won’t lose it’s value, maybe possibly my heirs will hold on to them as family heirlooms, or at least they won’t toss them like tchotchkes over the nearest bridge. ;) though still..when I’m gone it won’t really matter, huh?

i'm pretty sure i mentioned b4 about how r's parents send us greeting cards for many holidays, and how they are super-specific. and the quotation marks. happy halloween to a special son and "daughter". merry christmas to a special son and his lovely wife. i know it's a nice thing. it's not like it says, "on this thanksgiving, burn in hell, beeyotch" or anything like that ;). really, i didn't know how special i was till i had in-laws. ;) but then it makes me wonder, what does the generic christmas card say? the one that they send all their other friends? are we that special that we get special cards?
anyhoo, yesterday in the mail there was a special envelope, and r says, "probably an easter card from my folks..... happy easter to a special son....and a special 'daughter'.... and a special fetus." OMGILMAO!!!!!!! hahahahahahahhahaa.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAS!!

but now we wonder if they'll send us mother's day/father's day cards. that say happy mother's day to a special woman carrying a special fetus. or they'll send 2 cards to cover their bases: happy july 4th to a special unborn grandson/special granddaughter.

He's turned. and it's all my fault.

went to a funeral yesterday. going to one tomorrow. found out about the sunday funeral right before leaving for yesterday's funeral. it tires me out, but i know i'm not as emotionally exhausted as the families. there was a photo slide show and i lost it. life is there and then it's not?? i dunnoooooo... need to cheer myself up. listen to a bunch of musicals, do logic puzzles..i dunno.
oh, umbc lost to georgetown. i live closer to dc so there's a hoya slant on the news. i wonder what they're saying in charm city. ;)
work puter - am i losing sleep over this?? sucks! well, the work order was deemed "critical" but at day 5 i just find that to be a joke. maybe if i were the freakin' town manager, things would get fixed. life as a peon.. the only saving grace is that i have other computers to log on to.
forgive my slackerness. so i discovered that conceptispuzzles is now blocked at work. the new puzzles come out on friday and i look forward to them. so i'm pretty sure i had the look of horrified loathing when i got the access-denied-screen. what's next, cuteoverload? fluck!
we went to LJS last night and i think that will be the highlight of my week. there's something comforting about monochromatic fried food. ;) the place was packed. good friday fish meal?

...but typical me says "EWWWWWW!!!"  (hey robin, this is for you ;))

Mucus is made by tiny glands in your sinus and nasal cavities.  It is 95% water, but also includes proteins (that give it elasticity), fats, carbohydrates and salt.  The healthy human nose makes more than a pint of mucus a day, which forms a blanket over the delicate tissue that lines the nose.  Little hairs called cilia beat along the nasal passages to move the mucus around, and it drains down the back of the throat, where it is unknowingly swallowed.

Despite its tendency to become annoying at times, especially when you get a cold, mucus does a lot of good things for you.  It keeps germs, dirt, pollen and bacteria from getting into your lungs by trapping them in your nose.  When the mucus does not effectively clear out irritating particles your sinuses kick into high gear and produce even more mucus in an attempt to flush the nose out; this leads to a runny nose.  If the invading particle is a virus or bacteria, your immune system may respond by increasing blood flow to the area, which can cause the surrounding tissue to swell.  Mucus can then thicken and get stuck behind the swollen nasal passage and you end up with a stuffed up nose.

Mucus, by itself, is a very good protective mechanism - it is only when it gets over produced that it causes problems and steps can and should be taken to reduce it a little bit.  First of all, you can blow your nose more frequently as that can help keep it free of mucus.  You can also increase the humidity of the air you breathe, especially when you sleep, with a vaporizer or humidifier.  This helps keep your mucus liquefied and less likely to get stuffed up.  You can try to avoid irritants such as tobacco smoke and sudden changes in temperature, as they can make your nose drip more, too.  Finally, if you are suffering from a cold then there are some medicines you can take, like decongestants (for stuffed up noses) or antihistamines (for especially runny noses) to help make you feel better.

Even though it might seem annoying, mucus is a good protective system to have in place.  It is much better to have germs get caught in your nose than in your lungs.

okay, i'm impressed ;)
