happy thanksgiving! i didn't eat turkey today. we had kalbi and bulgogi. heh. i have heartburn.
i'm trying to think of $100 of schtuff to buy at target so i can get a $10 gift card - the black friday deal before noon. most likely i'll not go.
oh....scratch that. there was a turkey soup. nothing traditional tho - like stuffing, yams, pie. my apple spice cake came out yummy!
i can't seem to eke out a blog because i have 694069460 thoughts in my head
- Nov. 4th, 2009 at 2:40 PM
..but i forget to write about them or i try and write and i end up clicking cancel/delete. and my short term memory is super horrible. it's all hodgepodge and if you've been around this long i think you know how to dance the joo mind dance. or you pretend. gorsh, even i'm pretending ;)
so here, in jooabetical order ;):
i get the most randomest cvs coupons. they give you a choice, like, free trail mix or hand soap? toothbrushes or absolutely divine candy bar? lol. who decides these things? s/he is heeeeelarious.
i read about making your own ricotta cheese, or yogurt, or vanilla extract. and it all seems easy enough and fun. then a friend asked me if i made my own baby food. i was like, "NO" and then i kinda had my own duh moment. if i can't blend something with a little water, making my own cheese is probably not gonna happen. maybe the vanilla extract, as soon as i borrow a cup of vodka from one of you. :)
read a little about the peace plan, which sounds most awesome. i hope i can do my part though i feel too small.
went to a yard sale at the church nearby and what do i find? a umbc stein. i got it because what are the chances. and who else will even care that umbc exists? and i was wearing a umbc shirt at the time, too. :b
went to Not Your Average Joe's which was.........average. i thought i ordered a healthy sandwich (grilled portobello) and wow, it wasn't. it really showed me how cheap i have been. we always use coupons. so it *pained* me to shell out 11 bucks for an average sandwich, fries, and a glass of water. oh well. the desserts looked really good, though.
if i had to give a new mom advice, i would say - Don't feel guilty about your decisions. You're doing what's best for your family. and secondly i would say don't let other people make you feel guilty about your decisions. all the issues are hot issues (uh... natural childbirth, epidurals, caesarean, vaginal delivery, formula, breastfeeding, homeschooling, day care and the list goes on) and what does it really matter in the end as long as your child knows you love him/her. all that said, i'm not sure how many would actually listen to my advice. ;) can't say i'm listening to my own advice.
sesame street segment - murray has a little lamb - that lamb is the cutest thing ever!! not a great example
weezer snuggies - or wuggies?? they were so hilarious performing on letterman with them on!! performance
letterman isn't very funny these days. *snore* i prefer the inane goofiness of conan!
baby & parsley
- Oct. 10th, 2009 at 4:10 PM
this makes me laugh, cuz the smaller baby has this, "what the...!!??" look on his face..

19.2 pound baby
but i think about giving birth to a 19 pound baby and that makes me cry.
hey, does parsley have a taste? (i googled this earlier, and i'm glad to know other people wonder this too) it seems more for garnish or color. and my cookbook says it gives a "fresh" flavor. um.... perhaps.
kickin like..

i made a modified crunchy onion chicken (http://www.frenchs.com/recipe/french's-c
and it's pretty tasty. i used mustard instead of the egg. and i cut the chicken and stuffed them with a slice of ham. kind of a joke, but it ended up being very flavorful.
:
2 cups (4 oz.) FRENCH'S® Original or Cheddar French Fried Onions
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
4 (5 oz.) boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 egg, beaten
Directions:
Place French Fried Onions and flour into plastic bag. Lightly crush with hands or with rolling pin. Transfer to pie plate or waxed paper.
Dip chicken into egg; then coat with onion crumbs, pressing firmly to adhere. Place chicken on baking sheet.
Bake at 400°F for 20 min. or until no longer pink in center.

decompressing after sean's birthday party. lots of food and people and attention. sean handled it well, relatively. he's only around his quiet parents so i wondered how he handles crowds.
my dad brought a painting and hung it in our kitchen at the party. we were too shocked to do anything. he had a nail and hammered it with a rock (from the front yard?). he stood on a chair and on the table and we were like..what the.... didn't ask us for permission or an opinion.
my mom said something and i just found it so. insulting. she said the downstairs toilet was filthy and do we not have a toilet brush? i cleaned the main floor, and i scrubbed the kitchen down. it was mad-clean. i ran out of time and honestly didn't think about the downstairs. how is it she finds a fault and magnifies it 298324 times? so i wish she'd get off my back and not treat me like a 6 year old. and no compliments on what i do right, just what i do wrong. i guess i'd rather get my criticism wrapped around a compliment. bacon wrapped criticism..hahaha.
if i went to yer house and saw yer filthy toilet, i wouldn't say a damn thing. that's what friends do. ;)
dude, the day after i swept and vacuumed. can we say housewife?? ;) but that baffrooms still dirty. maybe i'll never clean it ;)
my inlaws have this paranoia about sean crying when they hold him. uh, it can be a self fulfilling prophecy. eeps, but now i'm starting to believe it. he was crying a lot around them, but surprisingly chill when my cousins and uncles came over. maybe it is a case of you become-what-you-believe..
the weight thing - yeah it's still hard for me, and it's hard when sean whines and doesn't want to eat. i know he won't die of starvation. um. it's hard.
i think i may have dissed my inlaws. they probably wanted us to open sean's presents at the party. rob started to, and i said, "i don't think that's appropriate" and i went to the kitchen. mature? immature? i dunno. then rob/sean either got distracted or something and stopped opening stuff. there was some restlessness in the room, i felt. and i was thinking "are you or aren't you gonna finish, aww crap, this party just hit a wall.." we talked about it later, and i asked, "was i disrespectful?" i think we both saw a bit of meltdown at that point of the festivities.
digression: a friend of mine talked about how bridal showers were sooo boring, especially the opening of gifts. i had never considered that. but ever since then, man...i have to agree. hahaha.
sean's made more money than me this year.
my mom also said junk in front of my family. she was like, "she doesn't understand korean" in a condescending way. ugh!! i was in the other room and not exactly paying attention.. i mean... she doesn't have to say crap like that. grrrrr. she did lots of cooking so i have to cut her some slack, right.
yeah, i's be's whinin'. there are very few safe places to whine so here i am risking it.

i read about clutter while websurfing (on oprah...) & i am in need of a serious declutter!! though i say it's manageable... ;) very good tips.. like putting all your clothes on hangers one direction. when you wear them, face the hanger the other way. so you know what is just taking up space. and now i say "finish the cycle" to myself.. ex - if i don't put my clothes away, it just gets to a pile that i want to avoid. why not just put them in the dresser? or instead of dropping dirty clothes on the floor, why not put them in the laundry bag? i will try and be better about this. ("....there is no try" ;)) it mentioned that yer things need a place to live. when you buy things, keep this in mind - if you don't have a place for it, why get it, it's overkill..
anyhoooo... say yer parents are packrats. and they want to give you some of their stuff. stuff that you don't necessarily care to take. do you take it or decline? i guess if you take it, it makes them happy. and it's less you'll have to deal with later (is that morbid sounding? i dunno...sry). but maybe if they are packratty, they'll just refill the glass with other schtuff.
such rambling. i have mental clutter too. and i'm giving some of it to you. it lives in my blog. ;)

i am really losing my mind. not enough adult interaction. like, i will think in my mind, i need to shave. then i'll say it out loud, but it comes out, "i need to vacuum." d'oh.
i'm craving a burger. (sorry james) though it seems that when i satisfy cravings, it doesn't hit the spot. and that's frustrating.
i can be germophobic and i can be strangely nonchalant about messiness, too. how does that work?? dust around the house, whatever. washing hands after touching a grocery cart, a must!!
it will take more than a lifetime to figure myself out. eesh. maybe it's good to have mystery. but for now, i need to vacuum ;)

okay, the fries aren't all that. but they have win!tater tots and win!onion rings. :)
so how many times do you go to a place/restaurant before you decide to dislike it? 3 is a good number, though with so many choices... it's easy to just go once.

-went to visit town hall today. n was like, do you want to visit your first floor friends? and i was thinking, um..no...not really. i'm not much of a parader, but we went. i get a little nervous about stuff - will we get chilled out sean, or grumptastic sean?? he got fussy right when we left. phew. heh. someone said i was looking skinny. i really wanted to say, it's my chest that's so big and it makes everything else look little. but there was a guy there. so i just make a face. (so instead i tell the interwebs. heh)
the stroller! it would.not.close. i started panickiing in the parking garage.. and s was crying, which gets me tense. and i tried to shove it in the car uncompacted. that didn't fit. i called N, and L came out, and it wouldn't budge for her either. it's comical, i suppose. but these days i'm still on the clock, and i felt the window of time shrinking, shrinking... L takes the stroller and we figure i'll pick it up another day. but L calls me when i'm on the road and tells me T got it to collapse. i make a uturn and pick it up. happy ending. :b
-what would i do if i had sextuplets/septuplets/octuplets?? besides cry a lot? thinking about this lately. i think the dvr's missing jon and kate plus 8, but i don't mind. i think that show has jumped the shark- is that mean or what. like the show has become their life and their work. but what would i do? would i not do the same? would i not take advantage of these opportunities? sigh. i hope the kids make out okay.
-la habra! my apologies to g and the memories of the salmon palace. i never thought i'd hear about la habra ever again.

jennifer tagged me for a 20 album meme. i had listed about 12, and i kinda gave up. half of those were just albums that i really liked; nothing that really signified anything or any turning point in my life. i could probably do a 20 significant song meme... which reminds
me..
i recently heard Calloway's "i wanna be rich" and paula abdul's "cold hearted snake" on the radio. they really bring back stuff from the back of the closet! hehehe. ya know what, i have itunes credit and i should get inspired to use it. maybe buy some mariah carey, or bare naked ladies or whateva.
